Cayo Gamber lectures under a power point projection at Yad Vashem.

At the invitation of Yad Vashem, Israel's Holocaust Museum in Jerusalem, Professor Cayo Gamber presented a workshop devoted to interrogating the ethics of engaging with interactive Holocaust-survivor AIs. The workshop was devoted to exploring the ethical dimensions of the week-long interview process during which individual survivors answered over 1000 thousand questions in order to create each AI; the ethical foundations of the survivors' individual, traumatic, and profound engagement with the AI project; and the ethical implications of individual visitors' interactions with survivor AIs now and into the future.   Gamber's workshop, "Ethical Issues in Engaging with Survivor 'Holograms'" was part of a three-day conference, "Challenges in Presenting Holocaust Resources in the Digital Age," hosted by Yad Vashem, 22-24 November 2022.
