The UWP recently held a storytelling event on the Mount Vernon campus in memory of colleague and friend Kathy Larsen, who passed away in February.
Lynn Zubernis, her longtime collaborator and co-author, gave the keynote talk about her scholarly adventures with Larsen, including tracking down and interviewing the stars of the cult television series, “Supernatural.” Zubernis and Larsen went on to co-write four books on the series and its fans.
Faculty colleagues in the UWP and several of her students also spoke about Larsen’s collegiality, warm and engaging teaching, and her work to improve labor conditions at GW, including the creation of a part-time faculty labor union and the GWU Faculty Association.
