Erica Armstrong Dunbar Writing in the Disciplines Workshop
Writing in the Disciplines is proud to present Erica Armstrong Dunbar, discussing her writing practices both within and outside professional academic history. She is the author of A Fragile Freedom: African American Women and Emancipation in the Antebellum City (Yale University Press, 2008) and National Book Award Finalist Never Caught: The Washingtons' Relentless Pursuit of their Runaway Slave, Ona Judge (Atria Books, 2017).
How does she anticipate her readers when writing for a primarily academic vs. more public audience? Does it change her research and writing process? her level of complexity or of detail? her tone? Bring your questions--she'll have some for you!
Limited seating is available for current WID GAs, WID faculty, and UWP Faculty.
