Description

This workshop teaches participants how to think critically and adapt when it comes to appropriateness and consistency of tone, voice and style in their writing. It also offers strategies for diplomatically conveying sensitive or political information and addressing challenging issues and questions.


Outcomes

In this workshop, participants will learn to:

  • Define style, tone and voice — and identify varieties of each
  • Evaluate with nuance various rhetorical situations and communications in terms of appropriateness and consistency
  • Determine and implement the appropriate tone, voice and style in written and oral communications based on audience and form
  • Analyze the writing of an individual or organization in an effort to capture voice and style for ghost writing   
  • Compose language diplomatically in a variety of complex business and social situations
