UW Students Win Eckles Prize

University Writing students swept the Eckles Prizes this year. The winners are:

 

First Place: Rachel Hsu -- "The Impact of Covid-19 on the Reintegration of Ex-Combatants in Colombia"; University Writing 1020: Peace and Pandemic in Colombia (Prof. Malone-France)

Second Place: Julia Deluca -- "The Chain of Resistance in the Warsaw Ghetto"; University 1020: Legacies of the Holocaust (Prof.  Gamber)

Third Place: Nellie Tash -- "Women, Luxury, Pearls, and Soldiers: The Significance of Banquet of Anthony and Cleopatra to Jan Steen and the Dutch Republic"; University Writing 1020: Dutch Painting at the National Gallery of Art (Prof. Pollack)

 

The three recipients will give brief talks about their work and there will be time for questions from the audience. Please join them for this virtual event to celebrate the winners on Saturday, Oct. 16, from 2 to 3 p.m.
