Zachary Wolfe

Zachary Wolfe teaches first-year writing courses themed around law and social movements and an advanced Writing in the Disciplines course in legal writing. His teaching is informed by his background as a public interest attorney and his ongoing, wide range of legal writing. He is the author of Hate Crimes Law (released in updated editions annually) and is the updating author for Farnsworth on Contracts (updated regularly throughout the year). A licensed attorney, he also writes amicus curiae briefs on behalf of a range of organizations and serves as a member of the advisory board of the DC-based nonprofit Partnership for Civil Justice Fund. He participates in a wide range of professional conventions, scholarly conferences, and community fora. Particularly interested in the relationships among law, protest, and considered social discourse, his publications likewise range from legal treatises and scholarly journal articles to broadly accessible newsletter articles and advocacy pieces. He is a member of the Bar of the US Supreme Court and his website offers previews of oral arguments that may be of interest to GW undergraduate students.
